Recycling

Schutz

APPARENT uses only SCHUTZ 1,000-Litre containers (known as "IBCs", "Shuttles" or Totes") for our large packaging.  Information on SCHUTZ (sometimes written as SCHUETZ or SCHÜTZ) may be found on their website:
www.schutz.net

Select "SCHÜTZ DSL AUSTRALIA" for information specific to Australia.

We have made arrangements with Schutz Australia to collect your empty 1,000-L IBCs free-of-charge if they are no longer of use to you, in reasonable condition and regardless of your location in Australia. All you need do is contact your reseller.

We appreciate that certain Schutz IBCs may be re-used on the farm to store water and other materials after triple-rinsing, but we also understand that numbers are increasing to a level where storage of empty IBCs has become a problem.

Moreover, Schutz Australia will also collect empty IBCs that previously contained other company products as well as their blue FI drums (which are not used by APPARENT).

APPARENT is importing in excess of 10,000 IBCs a year, therefore we are keen to ensure that they do not become an environmental problem for Australian farmers.

DrumMUSTER®

DrumMUSTER® is a national program for the collection and recycling of cleaned, eligible non-returnable crop production and on-farm animal health chemical containers.

As a chemical user, drumMUSTER® provides you with a defined route to safely dispose of your used chemical containers. All you are required to do is clean your containers so they are free of any chemical residue then deliver them to a local transfer station. To find out the location of your transfer station please call your reseller.

Only drumMUSTER registered drums may be collected (look for the drumMUSTER® symbol shown below). Drums must be triple rinsed with water and free of residue. Lids are to be removed, but can also be recycled at the time of delivery.

There are no additional costs to the customer when returning the drums. The drumMUSTER® program applies only to rigid walled steel or plastic containers greater than one litre or kilogram up to 205 litres or kilograms of declared content.

The drumMUSTER® program does not apply to:
• one-litre or one-kilogram containers
• IBCs or totes
• pails or buckets
• bags or cartons used for packaging dry products

Please note that drumMUSTER® is not a refilling program. The containers collected are converted into sterile particles which are used in the production of other products.
